ABOUT THE CLIENT
The School District of Philadelphia (SDP) is the school district that includes all public schools in Philadelphia. Established in 1818, it is the 8th largest school district in the nation, by enrollment.
The district provides the full range educational services including general, special, and vocational education at the elementary and secondary levels, as well as related supportive services. It also provides preschool services in response to the needs of the community. The Philadelphia School District serves over 200,000 students, which requires staffing of approximately 18,500 employees at over 300 locations, including 245 schools, two administrative sites, and six bus garages.
PROJECT REQUEST
The School District of Philadelphia contracted with CherryRoad to provide an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution and related services including Managed Services to augment school district organizational resources. The districts goals were “to procure a modern Cloud-based solution that is flexible and scalable and that can accommodate best practices to provide for the maintenance and support of a thorough and efficient system of public education.”
The functional scope for the project included Financials, Supply Chain, Human Resources and Payroll, Time Entry, and Budget Preparation.
SOLUTIONS & IMPROVED OUTCOMES
Our ten-year contract provides Oracle Cloud software, implementation services, and ongoing Managed support services to the School District of Philadelphia. This is the largest implementation for Oracle Cloud Services in the public sector to date and further demonstrates why CherryRoad was previously named an Oracle Innovation Partner of the year.
We are providing:
- ERP solution and the District Student Information System (SIS) to influence, inform and drive accounting and business process decisions.
- School District solutions that will interface seamlessly (or via data imports) into the School District’s ERP, then accept the populated file as imported back into the ERP.
